Baraat !!

Marriage Rukhawat!

Not for long ago , every Indian bride used to take all of her stuff from her family to her new home . In Maharashatrian wedding, the place where you showcase all those memory is called as Rukhwat : A Table full of decorative items food , art and crafts put to display.
This was one of the way for bride's family to show off bride's homemaker capabilities.

Here is the second order which is to make doli with baratis for one of such Rukhawat.

Doli or palkhi is special cart to bring bride to her new house. Along with it , baratis dressed in traditional outfits celebrating the occasion.

Doli was made of 2mm quilling strips and two quilling swans are pulling cart.

Bride and groom are made of homemade porcelain clay . Floral wires are used to give basic shape to bride n groom then clay layer is given . It takes almost a day to dry this clay model.

Its been long break for my crafting work. Getting back to India n settling down took a bit time . And offcourse festivals didn't gave me much chance to unpack my craft bag .

So here is my first order in India .

For this Quillographic Ganesha I used two toned 2mm strips . This Ganesha symbolizes mother father and brother.

IQC#17--- Quillography Challenge

This is one of my favorite project . One of my friend wanted quillographic framework for her kids room .
As both kids are boys she wanted frames in blue color and done in similar fashion.

I was thinking about design which will accommodate mirror image and then I came up with idea of waves.

"Blue ocean waves"
The most challenging part of this project was to reverse design on second frame.

I tried my best to achieve symmetry.

This is my first post for Indian quilling challenge.

Hope you all will like it .
