DT inspiration - Celebrate women

Hi there
Welcome to new month... new challenge. In this month we are going to celebrate womanhood. So my following post is dedicated women ....a powerful , strong women.

"Every women is a gift when she becomes a daughter .
Every women is special when she becomes wife.
Every women is god when she becomes mother."

Today I made quilling doll carrying her baby.
Tight coils are made to make parts of dolls body. those tight rolls are then given shape .

For hair 3 cm strip is taken and then fringes are cut. Using quilling tool those fringes are curled to give hair texture.

For base part of doll fabric skirt is stitched .  And after sticking hair and skirt and body parts this is how doll looks.

These are baby body parts made of tight coils and then shaping them .

Here baby is ready . Small lace ,hair and cap is stick using glue gun.

Final look of mummy doll with her baby.

Hope you all will like it and get inspired to create something new.
Cheers!!!

Month filled with love

Hello everyone
Month of February is always special not only for couples but I guess for everyone who thinks one should express there love to there loved ones.
Actually now a days, we became so busy that we don't find so much time to express our love.  Well.. so I guess valentines day is a good day to say that.

And one more reason for special is this is going to my first DT post for IQCG.

For this quilling card, I used 3mm strips on watercolor paper. I prepared heart shaped stencil.

Then using distress ink, the heart shape is filled with colors. Upon that colored base, I made design by Quilling.

And this is how my card finally looks.

Hope you all will like it and get inspired to create something new.
Cheers!!!

Little Heart

One day some lady called me and  asked if  I can quill a heart which can fit in her name plate which is already ready . Challenge was that the heart size was 5x5  and she wanted thickness 2mm with effect of colour which 4mm strip gives ;-) . Quilling with 2mm strip was not much problem but illumination from strips is difficult to achieve .
So I pre coloured paper with light watercolours and then worked on that surface.  And yess!! I got that effect which she wanted .

Hope you all will like it and get inspired to create something new.
Cheers!!!

Baraat !!

Marriage Rukhawat!

Not for long ago , every Indian bride used to take all of her stuff from her family to her new home . In Maharashatrian wedding, the place where you showcase all those memory is called as Rukhwat : A Table full of decorative items food , art and crafts put to display.
This was one of the way for bride's family to show off bride's homemaker capabilities.

Here is the second order which is to make doli with baratis for one of such Rukhawat.

Doli or palkhi is special cart to bring bride to her new house. Along with it , baratis dressed in traditional outfits celebrating the occasion.

Doli was made of 2mm quilling strips and two quilling swans are pulling cart.

Bride and groom are made of homemade porcelain clay . Floral wires are used to give basic shape to bride n groom then clay layer is given . It takes almost a day to dry this clay model.
